Islamic Studies Teacher (English)

About the role

The Islamic Studies Teacher will deliver curriculum in English, creating a supportive learning environment that promotes personal, social and intellectual growth. The role involves adapting lessons to individual student needs and aligning instruction with school and Texas Education Agency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials that meet course standards.
• Provide individualized and small‑group instruction to address diverse learning needs.
• Evaluate academic and social progress, prepare report cards, and maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
• Ensure safe storage and proper use of teaching materials, equipment and tools.
• Establish and enforce behavior standards for classroom and field‑trip activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents, counselors and team leaders about student progress.
• Supervise students during out‑of‑class activities and participate in faculty committees.
• Analyze performance data to deliver targeted instruction and measure outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to set instructional goals and integrate technology into teaching.
• Monitor instructional assistants and volunteers, and conduct formal and informal assessments.

Required profile

• Demonstrated knowledge of Islamic Studies content and pedagogy.
• Ability to teach in English and adapt curriculum to meet Texas Education Agency guidelines.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to nondiscriminatory practices and cultural sensitivity.
• Willingness to serve as a positive role model and support the school’s mission and vision.
