IT Strategy & Performance Director (Consulting Background)

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical and strategically minded IT Strategy & Performance Director to drive performance excellence, governance, and execution discipline across the IT function. The role partners closely with IT leadership to enable data‑driven decision making, increase delivery transparency, and align IT strategy with business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve IT‑wide performance frameworks, translating strategy into measurable KPIs and execution metrics.
• Develop and own executive‑level dashboards, management reports, and performance packs for leadership reviews and steering committees.
• Partner with IT leaders to cascade strategic priorities into structured tracking and reporting mechanisms.
• Conduct deep‑dive analysis of IT portfolios to identify risks, inefficiencies, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.
• Convert complex operational, delivery, and financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Lead performance reviews across service delivery, transformation programs, operational resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Establish and maintain governance standards for KPI definitions, reporting cadence, data quality, and performance transparency.
• Provide quality assurance and challenge performance narratives submitted to senior leadership forums.
• Coordinate across IT teams to ensure alignment of priorities, initiatives, and delivery timelines.
• Prepare high‑quality executive presentations for leadership and board‑level discussions.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of professional experience, preferably from top‑tier consulting (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Accenture).
• Strong background in IT strategy, digital transformation, or technology operating models.
• Proven expertise in performance management, IT KPIs, dashboards, or portfolio tracking.
• Excellent analytical capability with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and translate data into insights.
• Advanced stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging senior leadership.
