Java Software Engineer (Full‑Time)

About the role

UBS is seeking a Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain modern software products within its Advisory crew. The role works in an agile environment, delivering secure, scalable solutions for global wealth‑management services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new and maintain existing software products using modern technologies and agile methodologies.
• Proactively deliver time‑sensitive projects with a solution‑driven attitude.
• Apply modern development practices to ensure state‑of‑the‑art design and implementation.
• Ensure high‑quality, secure, scalable software that integrates into the enterprise ecosystem.
• Analyze business requirements, design solutions, and incrementally enhance the product.
• Support the product by resolving high‑priority defects and deploying fixes.
• Collaborate closely within an agile team and a global organization.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years hands‑on Java and Spring development experience, preferably in finance.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in Java 25 and Spring Boot 3.5 for backend development, including REST APIs and batch processing.
• Experience with Angular for modern front‑end applications (a plus).
• Familiarity with Docker and deployment on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Knowledge of Azure PostgreSQL and relational database management.
• Understanding of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and API security best practices.
• Curiosity about applying AI to improve workflows while adhering to risk and ethical standards.
