Lab Manager – Environmental Science (Part‑time)

About the role

Georgetown University in Qatar seeks a part‑time Lab Manager to support the Environmental and Sustainability Studies (ESS) curriculum. The role combines laboratory stewardship, instructional support, and sustainability‑aligned practices to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality teaching and research experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver two 1‑credit Environmental Science lab sections each semester and hold weekly office hours.
• Provide TA support for the STIA Gateway course, including a weekly recitation.
• Partner with faculty to design, adapt, and continuously improve lab exercises and course materials.
• Manage daily lab operations, logistics, ordering, and documentation while maintaining strict safety and environmental compliance.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute off‑campus field excursions and environmental sampling activities.
• Support student learning through clear communication, timely feedback, and structured lab‑based instruction.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of lab pedagogy, assessment tools, and sustainability practices.

Required profile

• Locally based candidate with existing sponsorship to live and work in Qatar.
• Availability for a renewable term position covering the academic year (August – May) with a 29‑hour weekly schedule.
• Commitment to the mission of Georgetown University and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
