Lead ELV Engineer

About the role

The Lead ELV Engineer manages, operates, maintains and optimizes all Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems across Facilities Management projects. The role ensures system reliability, compliance with local regulations, preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting of critical issues, and effective management of technicians and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operation and maintenance of ELV systems in the assigned facilities, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, public address, structured cabling, BMS interfaces, intrusion detection, intercom, audio visual, gate barrier and parking management systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans, and carry out inspections, testing and fault diagnosis.
• Review technical reports, root cause analysis and corrective action plans, and coordinate with clients, authorities, vendors and subcontractors.
• Support system upgrades, modifications and technology enhancements, and ensure compliance with QCDD regulations, local codes and client requirements.
• Lead and supervise ELV engineers, supervisors and technicians; allocate manpower and resources, conduct training and competency assessments, and monitor contractor performance.
• Review design drawings, shop drawings and as-built documentation, support FM mobilization and transition, and take part in audits, inspections and client meetings.
• Prepare maintenance KPI and asset performance reports, and ensure compliance with HSE policies, safe work practices and permit-to-work requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• UPDA/MMUP Certified Engineer (mandatory).
• QCDD certification/approval for fire alarm systems (mandatory).
• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in ELV systems, with at least 3-5 years in a lead or supervisory role in Facilities Management.
• Experience managing ELV systems in commercial, healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use or large-scale FM environments.
• GCC experience, preferably in Qatar, is highly preferred.
• Additional certifications in BMS, CCTV, access control or ELV systems are preferred.
