Lead Power Systems Engineer – Power & Digital

About the role

UCC Holding is seeking an experienced Lead Power Systems Engineer to drive the engineering, design coordination and technical delivery of major EPC Power & Digital infrastructure projects in Qatar. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept and FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead power systems engineering and design from concept to handover, including development of single line diagrams, load lists and design criteria.
• Conduct and review electrical studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, motor starting, harmonics, voltage drop and arc‑flash analyses.
• Coordinate engineering of HV/MV/LV substations, transformers, GIS/AIS, switchgear, generators, UPS, batteries and distribution systems.
• Develop protection and control philosophies, relay coordination and perform technical calculations.
• Support FAT, SAT, pre‑commissioning, testing, energisation, commissioning and project handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
• 12–15+ years of experience in electrical/power systems engineering on EPC, EPIC or turnkey infrastructure projects.
• Strong hands‑on experience with HV, MV and LV power systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, generators and UPS.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required skills

• IEC 61850, SCADA, EPMS, EMS.
• ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM or equivalent analysis software.
• Short‑circuit protection, motor starting, load flow, harmonics, arc‑flash analysis.
• Design of HV/MV/LV substations, transformers, GIS/AIS, switchgear, generators and UPS systems.
