Lead Technical Architect (Security – NFR)

About the role

An exciting opportunity to join Qatar Airways IT – Technology Services as Lead Technical Architect (Security – NFR). You will guide the strategic direction for secure application connectivity, ensure data protection, and uphold security and compliance standards across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the roadmap for application security and NFR best practices across QR applications.
• Ensure robust deployment and connectivity architecture that protects QR data and complies with QR policies.
• Lead the strategy for security certificates, secrets management, and mobility solution security.
• Establish an enterprise NFR framework covering availability, reliability, performance, scalability, observability, maintainability, auditing, and security.
• Architect observability solutions using Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor and define load‑testing strategies with tools such as k6, JMeter.
• Collaborate with cyber‑governance to refine security guidelines and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
• 10+ years in architecture or system design, with at least 3 years focused on application security and NFR.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, micro‑services, cloud computing and performance engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Monitoring and tracing tools: Dynatrace, ELK, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor.
• Load‑testing tools: k6, JMeter (and Galing).
• Security standards: OAuth, SAML, TLS, encryption‑at‑rest/in‑transit.
• API gateways and security: Apim, Apigee, MuleSoft, Solace, IBM MQ, WAF technologies (Akamai, Azure Front Door, F5).
• Cloud platforms: Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle, Adobe, on‑premise environments.
• Certificates and secrets management: BYOK, Fortanix, Azure Key Vault, TDE.
• Certifications: TOGAF, Azure/Google architecture expert (preferred).
