Legal Consultant – Intellectual Property

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Consultant specialized in intellectual property to support our clients in protecting and enforcing their brand assets. The role involves advising on trademark matters, handling enforcement actions, and preparing legal documentation while collaborating with internal teams and external counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with queries on intellectual property rights and provide legal advice.
• Manage trademark opposition and counter‑statement cases, including assessment, claim preparation, defense, and representation at hearings.
• Conduct trademark clearance searches, draft clearance reports and client advisories.
• Handle IP enforcement actions such as customs recordals, anti‑counterfeiting measures, investigations and reporting.
• Prepare and pursue administrative complaints for trademark infringement, counterfeiting, unfair competition and coordinate with customs and government agencies.
• Coordinate with external lawyers on litigation and court cases, ensuring proper follow‑up.
• Draft and review IP‑related agreements (licensing, franchising, assignment, joint‑venture) and enforcement documents.
• Produce daily correspondence, reports and legal updates for clients.
• Provide translation of legal and IP documents as required.
• Participate in IP training, awareness programmes and client outreach initiatives.
• Prepare annual audit reports on legal matters handled for clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent.
• Resident of Doha.
• 3‑5 years of experience, preferably in intellectual property law.
• Excellent command of English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
