Legal Director

About the role

The Legal Director will provide strategic legal support to the Group’s commodity trading businesses, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and protection of the Company’s interests across complex domestic and international transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior management on corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including Gas Sales Agreements (GSAs) and Gas Transportation Agreements (GTAs).
• Lead legal support for M&A transactions, joint ventures, investments, and corporate restructurings.
• Review and negotiate financing agreements, project finance, and structured trade finance transactions.
• Provide guidance on corporate governance, board matters, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage external counsel and oversee litigation or dispute resolution when required.
• Identify legal risks and deliver commercially practical solutions to business stakeholders.

Required profile

• LLB degree and qualified lawyer.
• 12+ years of experience in commodity trading, with strong cross‑border transaction expertise.
• Proven experience negotiating GSAs and GTAs.
• Background in oil & gas, energy, LNG, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Deep understanding of corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with multinational companies, energy developers, trading houses, or top‑tier law firms is preferred.
• Excellent contract negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
