About the role

The Library Assistant provides front‑counter service and supports library access and technical services at Georgetown University in Qatar. This term position involves a variety of shifts, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Key responsibilities

Perform circulation duties, check‑in/check‑out materials, and manage opening/closing procedures.
Assist with receiving, processing, shelving, and maintaining library collections, including RFID tagging and relamination.
Handle interlibrary loan requests, document delivery, and faculty scan requests.
Support student worker training, task assignment, and course reserves processing.
Monitor library spaces, enforce room booking policies, and provide basic technology troubleshooting.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 2 years of library or relevant customer‑service experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication in English.

Required skills

Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace.
Technical aptitude for troubleshooting computer hardware/software and office equipment.
