Lifting Appointed Person

About the role

The Lifting Appointed Person will lead and supervise all lifting operations for a major construction project in Qatar. This role ensures that every lift is planned, executed, and documented in full compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and approve lift plans and method statements.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
• Select appropriate cranes, rigging equipment and load charts for each operation.
• Verify the competency of the lifting team and ensure all personnel are certified.
• Coordinate closely with crane operators, riggers, supervisors and other site stakeholders.
• Monitor lifting activities on‑site and stop work immediately if unsafe conditions arise.
• Maintain accurate records, inspection reports and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Construction (preferred).
• CPCS A61 Appointed Person certification or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in lifting operations or a related field.
• Current residence in Qatar with a valid QID and immediate availability.
