About the role
The Marine Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems on vessels, ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. This role works closely with foremen and co‑workers to improve work quality and coordinate maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate internally with foremen and co‑workers to align on work scope and quality standards.
- Coordinate and execute maintenance tasks related to vessel mechanical systems.
- Follow agreed safe systems of work, training, and instructions at all times.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near‑misses promptly.
- Exercise authority to stop work if any activity is deemed unsafe.
Required profile
- Accountable for personal actions and omissions.
- Committed to adhering to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Willingness to follow instructions and report safety concerns.
