Marine Procurement Category Officer

About the role

The Marine Procurement Category Officer will lead procurement activities for marine‑related goods and services at Nakilat and its joint ventures. The role focuses on contract management, sourcing strategy, supplier performance and cost optimisation to maximise value for the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end contracting activities, from pre‑award through post‑award, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and marine spend targets.
• Identify and execute synergies, consolidation and standardisation opportunities across joint ventures.
• Establish KPI dashboards and supplier scorecards, driving continuous improvement.
• Conduct vendor audits, pre‑qualification and performance monitoring, including incident handling.

Required profile

• University degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Law, Business Administration or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of marine procurement experience, with at least 1 year in a similar role at a recognised maritime company.
• Proven track record in contract and vendor management, preferably with CIPS membership.
• Strong analytical, commercial and financial acumen.

Required skills

• Knowledge of marine regulations and LPG environment.
• Familiarity with standard contract forms and contract law.
• Strategic sourcing and contract management expertise.
• Ability to develop compelling business cases for senior management.
• Proficiency in MS Office, SAP and AMOS.
