Marine Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Marine Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, quoting, and ordering all items required by vessels, the company, partners and joint ventures. The role ensures compliance with user requirements, timelines, and relevant maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process day‑to‑day requisitions from end users through the procurement system, generating RFQs from approved suppliers.
• Analyze quotations on cost, quality and availability to achieve cost‑efficient purchases.
• Raise purchase orders after RFQ approval and monitor order progress through warehouses, freight forwarders and on‑board delivery.
• Manage the full purchase requisition, order, GRN and invoice lifecycle, adhering to SLA requirements.
• Assist accounting with disputed invoices and support end‑users in budget preparation.
• Ensure delivered goods comply with international maritime regulations such as SOLAS and Wheel mark.
• Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, driving improvement programmes and maintaining competitive supplier base.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in the maritime or oil & gas sector.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Good knowledge of the marine environment and related regulations.
• Computer literacy and ability to work with procurement systems.
