Materials Inspector – QA/QC

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a QA/QC Materials Inspector to ensure that all materials used on the project meet the required specifications and obtain approval from relevant authorities. The role involves close collaboration with the Resident Engineer, contractor, and on‑site teams to guarantee compliance and quality throughout construction.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor‑proposed materials and methods as directed by the Resident Engineer.
• Provide daily oversight of contractor activities, including work assignments and on‑site performance.
• Lead and attend site inspections, coordinating testing and approvals with authorities.
• Monitor material deliveries, verify accuracy of materials used, and ensure schedule compliance.
• Prepare reports for the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience supervising civil construction, particularly segmental tunnel lining production and inspection.
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete precast production, mix design, and material testing.
• Good knowledge of local material standards and ethical, safety‑focused work practices.
