Maternity Cover Primary Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Primary Teacher to join The Hamilton International School on a maternity cover basis. The role involves delivering engaging, inquiry‑based lessons to a diverse primary cohort while upholding the school’s high standards of learning, behaviour and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking and collaboration, integrating technology to support digital skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop coherent grade‑level programmes, contribute to curriculum review and ensure alignment with international best practices.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress, provide feedback and differentiate instruction for EAL, SEN and high‑achieving students.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment, implement behaviour management aligned with restorative practices, and support student wellbeing.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community, participating in meetings, workshops and school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; primary teaching qualification recognised by Qatar MoEHE.
• Minimum three years of successful primary teaching experience, preferably in an international or multicultural setting.
• Strong knowledge of effective pedagogy, assessment practices and ability to differentiate for diverse learners.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to safeguarding and professional conduct.
