Mechanical Engineer (Facilities Management)

About the role

A qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer is sought to join the Facilities Management team in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role covers the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and optimisation of mechanical systems across commercial, residential and mixed-use facilities, in line with safety, quality and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for all mechanical systems
• Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, pumps, water systems and other building services
• Ensure assets run efficiently and meet performance standards
• Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
• Review technical drawings, method statements and engineering specifications
• Supervise maintenance teams, subcontractors and service providers
• Monitor KPIs and ensure SLA compliance
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance plans and asset condition assessments
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders on FM operations
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and industry best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 7-10 years of experience in Facilities Management
• Strong experience in building maintenance and MEP systems
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, chilled water systems and pumps
• Experience managing maintenance teams and contractors
• UPDA/MMUP certification is mandatory; GCC/Qatar experience is highly preferred
