Mechanical Engineer – Fleet Integrity & Reliability

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide specialized expertise that strengthens troubleshooting, integrity assurance, and lifecycle performance of mechanical systems across our fleet. The role ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operations through governance, reliability, maintenance planning, and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain mechanical engineering standards aligned with OEM, class, flag state, and regulatory requirements.
• Approve mechanical maintenance procedures, job plans, and work scopes in line with asset‑management governance.
• Lead advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting for critical rotating equipment, engines, pumps, cranes, and hydraulics.
• Guide rig teams in root‑cause analysis and ensure corrective actions address underlying failure modes.
• Review and recommend preventive maintenance strategies, task lists, and intervals based on risk and performance history.
• Validate CMMS job plans, bills of materials, and maintenance workflows for data accuracy.
• Conduct mechanical integrity audits of pressure systems, lifting equipment, rotating machinery, and hydraulic components.
• Ensure certification currency and compliance with class, flag state, API, and regulatory inspections.
• Provide technical direction for mechanical upgrades, overhauls, and capital projects, reviewing vendor proposals and design changes.
• Analyze spare parts requirements, obsolescence risks, and support fleet‑wide reliability improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate mechanical drawings, manuals, and certifications in controlled repositories and issue integrity reports.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechanical engineering with experience in fleet‑wide mechanical integrity and reliability.
• Proven ability to lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis on complex mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory and classification standards governing marine or offshore equipment.
