Mechanical Technician

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Technician to perform maintenance and troubleshooting in continuous operation plants within the oil & gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps, blowers, valves, vessels, columns, exchangers, pipes and other static equipment.
• Install, remove and re‑fit equipment, including high‑elevation work with appropriate safety gear.
• Carry out rotating equipment maintenance and ensure work quality through inspection and corrective actions.
• Interpret isometrics, mechanical drawings and datasheets to guide maintenance activities.
• Clean, preserve and maintain removed parts of equipment.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma in a relevant trade (minimum 12+3 years of study).
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance within the oil & gas, petrochemical or fertilizer industry.
• Good HSEQ record and ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Installation and removal of pumps, blowers, valves, vessels, columns, exchangers and piping.
• Use of maintenance tools and safety equipment for high‑elevation work.
• Interpretation of isometric drawings, mechanical drawings and datasheets.
• Rotating equipment maintenance.
