Munitions Inspector

About the role

The Munitions Inspector is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining U.S. Air Force munitions and related equipment. The role ensures compliance with USAF and host‑nation safety, security and quality standards while supporting both peacetime and combat operations.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and enforce all USAF and host‑nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during all operations.
• Inspect munitions, containers and equipment according to technical directives and document serviceability and accountability actions.
• Operate Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS), MC2 and other information systems.
• Conduct warehouse inventories, correct discrepancies and perform minor maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Provide safety briefings, entry‑controller duties and stand‑by support as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of experience with military munitions and completion of USAF Munitions Systems training or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lb and able to work outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, TMO, Munitions and Tech Order systems.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and manual hoists.
• Experience with TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS systems.
• Ability to inspect and certify munitions brass, residue and containers per 11A‑1‑60.
