Munitions Inspector – USAF Munitions Operations

About the role

The Munitions Inspector is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining United States Air Force (USAF) munitions, related handling equipment and supporting resources at the assigned site. The role ensures strict compliance with safety, security and quality standards while supporting both peacetime and combat operations.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and enforce USAF and host‑nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during all operations.
• Inspect munitions and containers per technical directives (e.g., 11A‑1‑10, 11A‑1‑60) and document serviceability and accountability actions.
• Operate Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) and MC2, and conduct warehouse inventories.
• Recondition, repair or replace defective munitions parts and perform storage actions according to explosives standards.
• Operate and maintain light vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, manual hoists and various electronic test and production equipment.
• Provide safety briefings, entry‑controller duties and stand‑by support for mission requirements.
• Supervise and give clear instructions to Other Country National (OCN) munitions workforce when required.
• Report issues to Munitions Control and Superintendent and respond to emergencies.

Required profile

• Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, TMO, munitions and Tech Order systems or equivalent US service experience.
• Proficiency with personal computers, Windows operating system and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Ability to work in both office/warehouse environments and outdoors for extended periods.
