Munitions Inspector – USAF Operations

About the role

The Munitions Inspector is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining USAF munitions and related equipment. The role ensures compliance with all safety, quality and security standards while supporting mission requirements in both peacetime and combat scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and enforce USAF and host‑nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards across all operations.
• Inspect munitions, containers and equipment according to technical directives (e.g., 11A‑1‑10, 11A‑1‑60) and document serviceability actions.
• Operate Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) and MC2, and perform minor maintenance on vehicles and handling equipment.
• Conduct warehouse inventories, resolve accountability discrepancies and support deployed force custody accounts.
• Provide safety briefings, entry‑controller duties and stand‑by support during emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least four years of military munitions experience.
• Completed formal USAF Munitions Systems training (or equivalent) and ability to obtain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required).
• Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 50 lb and able to work outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, TMO Munitions and Tech Order systems.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Operation of material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, manual hoist).
• Experience with TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS systems.
