Operations Specialist - LNG Process

About the role

The Operations Specialist – LNG Process will support the Expansion & Start‑up Management team in delivering reliable asset performance and successful plant start‑up activities at QatarEnergy LNG’s Ras Laffan facility. The role combines operational, technical and business responsibilities to drive opportunity identification, performance reporting and risk management across the asset.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical support to the Expansion & Start‑up Management on current and future asset operations, including organization and development issues.
• Advise the Start‑up Division on readiness requirements for commissioning, start‑up and early operation of plant changes and projects.
• Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities, measure performance against corporate KPIs and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
• Monitor abnormal operating conditions during start‑up and stabilization, diagnose root causes and develop corrective solutions.
• Lead PSP assessments, emergency drill planning and lessons‑learned reporting.
• Implement technical best practices, coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering on process studies, and prepare bi‑annual performance reports.
• Manage the Asset/Start‑up Issue Register, including MOC tracking, project status, procedure changes, safety audits and corrective actions.
• Facilitate risk screening, formal risk assessments, root‑cause failure analysis and maintain the risk register until close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in LNG process operations.
• Proven experience in change management and implementing business‑improvement programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex operational problems.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
