Primary SENCO – Inclusive Education Leader

About the role

Newton British School in Doha is seeking an experienced Primary SENCO to lead and develop inclusive provision for pupils with additional learning needs. This full‑time position offers the chance to shape school‑wide strategies and ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage SEND provision across the primary phase.
• Identify, assess and monitor pupils requiring extra support and implement appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate individual support plans, set targets and map provision.
• Support teachers in planning differentiated and inclusive lessons.
• Coach and mentor staff to raise the quality of teaching for all learners.
• Monitor progress using data to inform next steps and interventions.
• Collaborate with parents, external agencies and multi‑agency partners.
• Contribute to the school’s inclusion and SEND strategy and ensure compliance with local and international guidance.
• Support safeguarding and pastoral care for vulnerable students.

Required profile

• BA in Special Educational Needs.
• Proven experience as a SENCO or in a senior SEND leadership role.
• Working towards or holding a recognised SENCO/Inclusion qualification (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of SEND practice, interventions and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Experience collaborating with parents and external agencies.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
