Procurement Engineer – Civil & MEP

About the role

The Procurement Engineer – Civil & MEP is responsible for sourcing and acquiring construction materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and technical solutions required for civil, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and overall MEP works. The role ensures timely delivery at competitive prices while meeting project specifications, schedules, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Review approved BOQs, specifications, drawings, and material submittals to identify procurement needs.
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs to approved and potential suppliers/subcontractors.
• Obtain, evaluate, and compare technical and commercial quotations, and prepare technical & commercial comparison reports.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
• Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, LPOs, and subcontract agreements.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure material compliance with specifications and standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, follow up on manufacturing, inspection, dispatch, and delivery.
• Provide regular procurement status and expediting reports.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of suppliers, prices, lead times, and procurement history.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and MEP construction requirements.
• Experience in managing end‑to‑end procurement processes for large‑scale projects.
• Ability to evaluate technical and commercial offers and make data‑driven recommendations.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with suppliers and internal teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate procurement documentation.
