Project Engineer - Fire Protection Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead fire protection services across oil & gas, EPC and large‑scale construction projects. The role involves managing engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of fire protection systems from design through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate fire protection engineering and installation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and interpret fire protection drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and project requirements.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, material submittals, technical submissions and method statements.
• Monitor site installation progress, quality and adherence to approved drawings.
• Conduct technical inspections and oversee testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Support project planning, material procurement, quantity take‑offs and resource allocation.
• Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

Required profile

• 5–6 years of experience in fire protection engineering and project execution.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• QCDD‑certified Firefighting Engineer (mandatory).
• UPDA certification (mandatory).
• Proven experience in oil & gas, EPC, industrial or commercial construction projects.

Required skills

• Fire protection system design, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and QCS requirements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Project coordination and site supervision.
• Quantity take‑offs and estimation.
