Projects Controls Engineer

About the role

The Projects Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring successful project execution by implementing robust project management processes. This role focuses on planning, scheduling, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting to keep projects on track and within resources.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and stakeholders to develop detailed project plans, define scope, objectives, deliverables and milestones.
• Create and maintain project schedules, break down activities, sequence tasks and estimate durations.
• Review and endorse planning packages and schedule updates submitted by contractors.
• Monitor critical path, conduct site visits and propose corrective actions to address variances.
• Control and monitor resources such as manpower, equipment and materials throughout all project phases.
• Work with estimators and engineers to develop cost estimates and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and updating forecasts.
• Prepare annual and quarterly budgets, monitor departmental budgets and analyse cost performance.
• Review invoices, validate progress, analyse extension of time claims and change orders.
• Identify risks, support risk mitigation planning and provide recommendations for improvement.
