Psychiatrist – Full‑time Clinical Position

About the role

PHI MEDCARE, a private medical centre in Lusail City, Qatar, is seeking a full‑time Psychiatrist to join its multidisciplinary team in Doha. The professional will deliver comprehensive mental‑health care, from assessment through treatment, for adult and/or child‑adolescent patients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental‑health conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Manage follow‑up consultations, monitor treatment progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals.
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency mental‑health support.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options and self‑care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and service‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialised training in Psychiatry.
• Valid licence or eligibility for licensure in Qatar.
• Proven experience in adult and/or child‑adolescent psychiatry, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment of diverse disorders.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques, psychopharmacology and risk assessment.
• Ability to manage complex, comorbid cases.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and thorough clinical record‑keeping.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
