Psychologist, Learning Support

About the role

The Psychologist, Learning Support will lead psychological assessment and intervention programs to promote student health, wellness, and academic success within the Student Affairs division.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement programs that evaluate, address, and monitor students' mental health and personal development.
• Conduct psychological assessments, maintain confidentiality, produce evaluation reports, and make timely referrals.
• Provide crisis intervention, relationship management, and support for learning difficulties, mood disorders, and adjustment issues.
• Perform academic skills assessments and coordinate assistance for students with specific learning needs.
• Collaborate with WCM‑Q faculty, staff, and affiliate partners (e.g., Cornell University, Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra, Qatar Foundation).
• Assist in developing and delivering student health and wellness programs.
• Support the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed.) in clinical or counselling psychology.
• 5–6 years of experience in psychological assessment, counselling, and mental‑health promotion.
• Licensed professional qualified to conduct psychological assessments and counselling.
• Prior experience in a healthcare‑education or higher‑education environment is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of psychological theories, evidence‑based interventions, and ethical/legal standards.
• Strong understanding of mental‑health issues affecting young adults.
• Ability to manage confidential situations with professionalism.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Comfort working in a multicultural environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
