Quality Controller – Blasting & Painting Inspection

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Controller to lead quality inspections for blasting and painting operations within a shipyard environment. The role ensures that all work complies with project specifications, standards and health‑safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and monitor quality inspections, verifications and control activities for blasting and painting works.
• Execute in‑process and final inspections, reporting any non‑conformities and initiating corrective actions.
• Coordinate with superintendents, class surveyors, paint representatives and third‑party inspectors to schedule and complete coating inspections.
• Maintain compliance with the Quality Management System, HSE regulations and relevant inspection/test procedures.
• Document findings, keep accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report project progress, issues or delays to the Supervisor promptly.
• Participate in training programmes to enhance team knowledge of quality standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• NACE 1 / FROSIO certification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in coating inspection or production supervision.
• Ability to interpret international codes and class rules.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
