Rigging Supervisor (Rigger II Lead)

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) is looking for a Rigging Supervisor, also referred to as Rigger II Lead, based in Ad Dawhah. The role covers planning and executing lifts of heavy equipment, large pipes and control valves with cranes up to 500T.

Key responsibilities

• Check loads to be moved, estimate their size, shape, weight and centre of gravity, and ensure they do not exceed crane lifting capacities.
• Attach lifting devices to hoisting equipment and items to be moved, using clamps, hooks, bolts and knots.
• Select the right slings, lifting gear and grappling devices, protecting sharp corners with padding.
• Keep the area clear of people and objects that could enter the path of the load, especially when the load is not visible to crane or winch operators.
• Guide loads into position as they are lowered.
• Lift and shift heavy equipment, large pipes and control valves with cranes up to 500T.

Required profile

• Secondary (12-year) certificate; an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate is preferred.
• 7 years of relevant, hands-on experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical or fertilizer industry.
• Valid rigging certificate issued by a competent and certified agency.
