About the role

GEMS American Academy in Qatar is seeking a dedicated Science (Biology) and Math (Algebra) teacher for middle‑high school students. The position starts immediately and offers the chance to join a dynamic high‑school team committed to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver up‑to‑date curriculum in Biology and Algebra, preparing engaging lessons for diverse learning styles.
• Plan, assess, record and report student progress, adapting instruction for ESL learners, gifted students, and those needing additional support.
• Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans, attendance, resources, and assessments.
• Utilise media and technology to enhance classroom learning.
• Participate in co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programmes, school events, and committees.
• Communicate regularly with parents, promoting the school’s core values and student wellbeing.
• Uphold GEMS policies, codes of conduct, and health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Hard‑working, talented educator with a passion for science and mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of the Qatar middle‑high school curriculum for Biology and Algebra.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for varied student needs, including late‑entering, low‑academic, gifted, and ESL learners.
