About the role
GEMS American Academy in Qatar is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join its High School team starting 1 August 2026. The successful candidate will deliver the science curriculum, inspire students, and uphold the academy’s core values of respect, innovation, leadership, purpose, and tenacity.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess high‑school science lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans, attendance, assessments and teaching resources.
- Utilise media and technology to enhance classroom learning.
- Provide guidance on academic and personal development, and communicate regularly with parents.
- Participate in co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programmes, school events and committees.
- Uphold GEMS policies, procedures and codes of conduct at all times.
Required profile
- Hold a B.Ed or a Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field.
- Demonstrate commitment to the GEMS Core Values and a passion for student achievement.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for ESL learners, late‑entering students, gifted and talented, and those needing additional support.
