About the role

Play an active role in the school's advancement and accreditation activities, creating a resource‑rich environment that supports active, participatory learning and collaboration with teaching staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update district policies on material selection, circulation, copyright, privacy and acceptable use.
• Promote modern teaching technology and provide all‑day access to digital information resources for the whole learning community.
• Lead reading lessons for Key Stage 3 classes, supporting weaker readers and supervising library lessons.
• Manage the accelerated reading program, assess student progress and report results to teachers.
• Maintain and organise the library collection, ensuring cataloguing follows accepted standards.
• Oversee the Integrated Library System, updating bibliographic and catalogue data.
• Prepare financial estimates, manage the library budget and handle acquisition, maintenance and withdrawal of stock.
• Ensure health, safety and safeguarding policies are followed within the library environment.
