Security Operations Officer – Data Security Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Security Operations Officer – Data Security Specialist to lead and enhance data protection across our client’s enterprise, cloud and AI environments in Doha. The role focuses on safeguarding data during mega‑sports events and regular operations, working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data protection controls, including DLP, data masking, tokenization and encryption (at rest, in transit, in use) across on‑premise and cloud (GCP, Azure) environments.
• Deploy and manage data discovery, classification and labeling tools to identify sensitive information.
• Support incident response investigations for data breaches, insider threats and compliance violations.
• Secure databases and data lakes, implement database activity monitoring and manage access controls for relational and NoSQL stores.
• Define cryptographic standards, manage key lifecycle and ensure BYOK strategies.
• Ensure privacy‑by‑design compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, PDPPL and Qatar’s NCSA framework.
• Collaborate with vendors, review data sharing agreements and maintain data security dashboards and KPIs.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in information security with a focus on data protection, cryptography and database security.
• Bilingual Arabic speaker preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with GCP and Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of privacy regulations and security frameworks.
