Senior AMU Manager – Account Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior AMU (Account Maintenance Unit) Manager to lead the Account Maintenance Unit within a leading financial institution in Qatar. The role oversees the full customer account lifecycle, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the AMU, ensuring efficient day‑to‑day operations and adherence to service level agreements.
• Oversee account opening, maintenance, amendments, closures, and profile updates across retail, corporate, SME, and private banking segments.
• Maintain data integrity in core banking systems and ensure proper documentation for all account activities.
• Support core banking upgrades, system enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, AML, FATCA, CRS, and local regulatory requirements; support audits and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain Customer Information Files and manage customer master records, including mandates and authorized signatories.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the AMU team, set performance objectives, and promote continuous learning.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in banking operations, core banking systems, and account maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of KYC/AML, FATCA, CRS, and local regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing banking operations teams.
• Experience with core banking transformation initiatives and process optimisation.
