Senior Backend Engineer – Foods

About the role

Snoonu, Qatar’s home‑grown Super App, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own and evolve the backend services that power its food‑related features. You will work with a talented team to design, build, and optimise high‑performance services that scale with millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services using .NET Core 8, ensuring seamless integration with the broader system.
• Optimise database performance in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB through query tuning and efficient data modelling.
• Participate in system design discussions, contributing to architectural improvements for scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor team members.
• Refactor existing codebases to improve efficiency, readability, and testability.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests to maintain high test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex production and development issues.
• Document technical decisions, system designs, and processes for knowledge sharing.
• Support production deployments and verify system stability after releases.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 5 years focused on .NET Core.
• Proven expertise in building RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Strong background with relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ and distributed asynchronous systems.
• Deep understanding of software design patterns and code‑refactoring techniques.
• Hands‑on experience in unit, integration, and performance testing.
