Senior Backend Engineer – .NET Core & Cloud Services

About the role

Snoonu, Qatar’s home‑grown Super App, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain core backend services. You will work with a fast‑growing team to ensure the platform scales reliably across delivery, ride‑hailing, and shopping experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services using .NET Core 8, ensuring seamless integration with other system components.
• Optimize database performance in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB through query tuning and efficient data modeling.
• Participate in system design discussions, contributing to architectural improvements for scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor team members.
• Refactor existing codebases to improve efficiency, readability, and testability.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests to maintain high test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production and development environments.
• Document technical decisions, system architecture, and processes for knowledge sharing.
• Support production deployments and verify system health after releases.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 5 years focused on .NET Core.
• Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Deep knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ and experience with asynchronous, distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns (Singleton, Factory, Strategy) and code‑refactoring techniques.
• Proven ability to write unit, integration, and performance tests.
