Senior Budget & Recovery Controller

About the role

The Senior Budget & Recovery Controller is responsible for preparing and managing departmental budgets, monitoring expenditures, and delivering accurate financial reports. The role ensures effective cost control throughout the fiscal year, supporting the oil and gas business in achieving its financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, consolidate and maintain annual departmental budgets and forecasts.
• Track actual spending against budgets, analyse variances and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare regular financial performance reports for management review.
• Coordinate with commercial teams to support cost planning and recovery initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in budgeting, costing or financial planning, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• At least 3 years in a commercial role focused on cost control and planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; professional certifications such as CIMA, CPA or equivalent are desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with Business Intelligence analytics tools.
