Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will design, manage and optimise enterprise‑grade IT infrastructure and cloud environments for Mowasalat. The role ensures high availability, performance and security while driving cloud and DevOps initiatives that align with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design and standardise enterprise Windows Server and Linux environments, including kernel tuning, scripting and security hardening.
• Manage virtualised infrastructures with VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper‑V, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilisation.
• Lead design and implementation of Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS solutions, cloud networking and identity management.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Azure Bicep, applying governance, cost‑optimisation and environment standardisation.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, automating deployments, configuration management and patching via PowerShell and Ansible.
• Oversee MS SQL, Kafka and MongoDB platforms, performing advanced tuning, replication, sharding and high‑availability configuration.
• Manage containerised applications with Docker and orchestrate large‑scale Kubernetes clusters, ensuring resiliency, autoscaling and service‑mesh reliability.
• Implement security controls aligned with ISO 27001 and NIST, lead vulnerability management and oversee backup, disaster‑recovery and RPO/RTO compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of IT infrastructure and systems engineering experience.
• 7+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure and DevOps experience.
• Relevant certifications such as AZ‑305, AZ‑400, VCP, RHCE, ITIL v4 Foundation, CKA.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead cross‑functional infrastructure projects.
