Senior Duty Engineer

About the role

The Senior Duty Engineer will lead the daily engineering operations at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, generator and water systems run safely and efficiently. This role combines hands‑on technical work with supervision of a team of technicians to deliver a high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all hotel engineering and maintenance activities during each shift.
• Monitor and control HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, generator and water systems.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and guest room complaints.
• Assign tasks to engineering technicians and oversee their execution.
• Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed on time.
• Conduct regular inspections of plant rooms, guest rooms, public areas and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Guarantee compliance with hotel safety standards and local regulations.
• Support energy‑saving and cost‑control initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel building systems and preventive maintenance procedures.
