Senior Electrical Engineer – BIM

About the role

The role is for a Senior Electrical Engineer with BIM expertise, based in Qatar on a short‑term contract that can be extended. The successful candidate will join an established engineering consultancy to deliver high‑profile building and infrastructure projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design LV/MV electrical power distribution systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality and mixed‑use developments.
• Perform electrical calculations such as load analysis, cable sizing, voltage drop, short‑circuit, protection coordination and fault level studies.
• Produce single‑line diagrams, power and lighting layouts, containment drawings, panel schedules and detailed documentation.
• Design indoor, outdoor and emergency lighting using Dialux or Relux, and fire alarm, emergency communication and life‑safety systems.
• Develop ELV and ICT solutions including CCTV, access control, structured cabling, BMS, IPTV and nurse‑call systems.
• Carry out generator sizing, UPS calculations, power factor correction, harmonic analysis and energy‑efficiency studies.
• Create and maintain accurate 3D electrical BIM models in Autodesk Revit MEP and manage Revit families for equipment and fixtures.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings, resolve multidisciplinary clashes with Navisworks Manage and ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans and ISO 19650 standards.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural, mechanical and public‑health engineering teams throughout all project phases.
• Prepare design documentation for concept, detailed design, tender and construction stages.

Required profile

• Senior‑level electrical engineer with proven experience in building and infrastructure projects.
• Immediately available or able to mobilise on short notice.
• Strong knowledge of international engineering standards and client requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in Qatar and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
