Senior Engineer - Business Architecture

About the role

Lead the development and maintenance of business architecture artefacts that connect GTA strategy, capabilities, value streams, services, processes and organisational responsibilities. The role supports evidence‑based investment, transformation prioritisation and enterprise‑wide alignment with the Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business capability maps, value streams, service catalogues and architecture viewpoints.
• Analyse strategic objectives and operating‑model changes, translating them into architecture requirements and roadmaps.
• Establish traceability between strategy, capabilities, services, processes, applications and initiatives in the EA repository.
• Collaborate with business owners and analysts to validate current‑state and target‑state models, identify gaps and set priorities.
• Support transformation, portfolio decisions and impact assessments with clear architecture insights.
• Apply EA governance, modelling standards and contribute to Architecture Review Board material.
• Facilitate workshops and communicate findings to business and technology stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture or related transformation roles.
• TOGAF certification required or strongly preferred; additional certifications (CBA, ArchiMate, BPMN, CBAP, Lean Six Sigma) are advantageous.
• Experience in government, tax, financial services or large complex organisations is preferred.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of TOGAF and business architecture concepts.
• Proficiency with ArchiMate and BPMN modelling.
• Experience using EA or process‑modelling tools such as Orbus OrbusInfinity, Bizzdesign or SAP.
