Senior Manager IT – Next-Gen Passenger Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced aviation technology leader to shape the future of passenger processing at Hamad International Airport. The role oversees strategy, delivery and 24/7 operational performance of critical passenger‑processing technologies, driving next‑generation capabilities such as biometrics, facial recognition and seamless single‑token travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a 3‑5 year technology roadmap for passenger‑processing, biometrics and digital identity solutions.
• Lead complex programmes covering self‑service check‑in, automated bag drop, e‑gates, boarding systems and biometric journeys.
• Own end‑to‑end system implementations, integrations, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of mission‑critical passenger systems.
• Direct response to major incidents and restore operations swiftly.
• Manage vendors, service contracts, budgets and procurement activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of IT management experience, with at least 8 years in aviation, airport operations or passenger‑processing technology.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale passenger‑processing systems and biometric identity solutions.
• Strong leadership of cross‑functional programmes involving airlines, government and technology partners.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and confidence to challenge business assumptions.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills.
