Senior Munitions Inspector

About the role

The Senior Munitions Inspector serves as the technical expert and advisor for the USAF Munitions Surveillance Program (MSP) in Qatar, managing inspector qualification, certification, and surveillance inspections of munitions stockpiles.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the MSP in accordance with DAFMAN 21-201, including training, certification, and evaluation of all assigned Munitions Inspectors.
• Conduct surveillance inspections, measuring, testing, analyzing, and recording results in the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS).
• Ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement and ISO 9001 QMS, and enforce USAF and host‑nation explosives safety standards.
• Document serviceability and accountability actions, coordinate with Accountability Section and USAF MASO, and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee inspection and certification of munitions brass, residue, and containers, and perform reconditioning, repairs, and replacements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and completed formal USAF Munitions Systems training (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years recent experience as a USAF Munitions Inspector and at least 7 years total munitions experience.
• Five years combined supervisory experience in munitions activities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lb and willing to work outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply and Tech Order systems (or equivalent).
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Experience with TICMS, MC2, TMRS, and IMDS/DPAS systems.
• Operation of electronic test equipment, metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors, and power tools.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and forklifts.
