Senior Piping Design Engineer – Qatar

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Senior Piping Design Engineer to lead piping design activities for on‑shore oil & gas projects in Qatar. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality FEED and detailed design deliverables while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop piping layout and 3D models using PDMS, E3D or SP3D.
• Prepare and review isometric, general arrangement (GA) drawings and detailed design documents.
• Execute FEED and detailed engineering in line with project requirements and client standards.
• Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications and integrate vendor package information.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Conduct model reviews, clash detection and design optimisation.
• Validate Material Take‑Offs (MTOs) and ensure compliance with international codes.
• Mentor junior piping designers and engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8–15 years of piping design experience on oil & gas projects, including FEED and detailed design.
• Proven experience with on‑shore facilities, preferably in GCC/Qatar.
• Strong understanding of piping layouts, routing and design standards.
• Excellent communication, coordination and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• PDMS, E3D or SP3D (experience in at least one is mandatory).
• AutoCAD.
• Navisworks.
