Senior Project Risk Manager

About the role

A client of Linum Consult operating in the Middle East is looking for a Senior Project Risk Manager based in Qatar. The role suits candidates with a background in construction, engineering, oil & gas or real estate. The client is committed to Qatarization and is only seeking Qatari nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Implement integrated frameworks for project risk, asset operations risk, business continuity and crisis management.
• Proactively identify, assess, mitigate and monitor risks while strengthening organisational resilience and supporting uninterrupted project delivery and asset operations.
• Promote international best practices in risk and resilience management so that decisions are informed and enterprise value is protected.
• Understand investment, development, project delivery, asset operations and divestment processes.
• Support business units in implementing an effective and consistent risk management approach.
• Understand project lifecycles, procurement strategies, governance structures and delivery models to identify risk exposures.
• Challenge underlying assumptions and advise project teams to improve risk visibility and control effectiveness.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, with relevant professional certifications in Risk Management.
• 15 years' experience in risk management, business continuity, crisis management or similar managerial roles in construction, oil & gas or real estate.
• Hands-on experience mainly on building projects and some on infrastructure.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
• Very strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
