Senior Risk & Internal Audit Manager

About the role

A group internal audit function in Qatar is looking for an experienced Senior Internal Audit Manager. The role leads risk-based audits across construction operations, investments and capital projects, covering governance, enterprise risk management (ERM), internal controls and compliance. Candidates with extensive experience in construction, EPC, infrastructure or large-scale contracting are ideal; exposure to investment and capital projects and the oil & gas sector is highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute risk-based internal audits in line with IIA standards
• Assess governance, internal controls, risk management and ERM frameworks
• Conduct audits across construction projects, investments and capital projects
• Review project budgets, cost controls, forecasting and financial performance
• Evaluate procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, claims and subcontractor management
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to mitigate operational and financial risks
• Prepare audit reports, present findings to senior management and monitor corrective actions
• Lead and mentor internal audit team members

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, quantity surveying or a related field
• 12-15 years of total professional experience, with substantial experience in internal audit, risk, assurance or compliance
• Strong experience in construction, EPC, infrastructure or large-scale contracting
• Proven exposure to project controls, commercial management, procurement and contract management
• Experience with ERM frameworks; exposure to investments and capital projects is essential or preferred
• Oil & gas experience is a strong advantage
• CIA, ACCA, CPA, CFE or CMA qualifications preferred; Big 4 experience and knowledge of SAP / Oracle are advantageous
