Software Engineering and Machine Learning Intern

About the role

You will join Mint AI's engineering team and work on real systems from week one. You will build the applications and models behind our Arabic‑native AI, and leave with shipped code, completed experiments and a clear view of how applied AI works in production.

Key responsibilities

• Build features for AI applications across front‑end, back‑end and model integration.
• Prototype Arabic language tools using open‑weight models and retrieval pipelines.
• Support fine‑tuning and evaluation experiments on Arabic datasets, including dialect coverage.
• Help curate, clean and label high‑quality Arabic training and evaluation data.
• Write tests, documentation and evaluation scripts that make our systems reliable.
• Take part in code reviews, sprint rituals and research discussions with senior engineers.
• Learn continuously and flag model limitations honestly, even when results disappoint.

Required profile

• Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken) and professional English.
• Alignment with Mint AI’s values (the Mintality).
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, AI or a related field.
• Solid programming skills in Python; TypeScript is a plus.
• Working grasp of machine‑learning fundamentals and curiosity about LLMs; experience with PyTorch or Hugging Face is a plus.
• Personal or academic projects you can walk us through.
• Initiative and comfort asking questions in a fast‑moving environment.
