Software Optimization Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Optimization Engineer to make our systems faster and cheaper by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, dead code, and inefficient database queries. The role focuses on profiling applications, cleaning up legacy code, and optimizing infrastructure to achieve dramatic performance gains.

Key responsibilities

• Profile applications to locate CPU, memory, and disk bottlenecks.
• Analyze and improve slow database queries, remove unused indexes and tables.
• Identify heavy dependencies and replace or eliminate them.
• Delete unused modules, dead code, and unused features.
• Refactor messy legacy code into readable, maintainable form.
• Reduce server costs by better resource utilization and faster deployments.
• Clean up bloated configurations and optimize caching and background jobs.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Linux command‑line proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with Python or PHP.
• Proven ability to optimize MySQL/MariaDB queries.
• Experience writing shell scripts.
• Track record of delivering measurable performance or cost improvements.
